A week after announcing that it was dropping out of Formula 1, Honda announced that it would be removing factory support from AMA road racing as well.
The decision of Honda sharply contrasted to its earlier stand that it would not pull support from other motorsports endeavours.
Neil Hodgson is the lone Honda factory rider contracted for the 2009 season. Jake Zemke, who won last year's AMA Formula Xtreme Championship, may race for the Erion Honda team.
Honda still supports the Corona Honda team and the Erion Honda team. Motocross and Supercross also remain unaffected.
