Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will come face-to-face with his lookalike, his wax statue created by Madame Tussauds, in Mumbai..
Tendulkar's wax statue, to be flown specially to India, will be unveiled at an event in a suburban hotel, according to an announcement here Thursday.
According to a spokesperson for the organisers, this is the first time that Madame Tussauds is having a statue launch abroad.
"Until now, all celebrity statue launches were held in London at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. This time, it is being held in Mumbai," the spokesperson said.
The record breaking batsman - the first Indian sports personality to be a part of the prestigious museum - is featured in an "on the pitch" pose.
Sachin is dressed in his cricketing whites, which he has donated. The statue took three months to create.
Apart from Sachin, the other living Indians displayed at the museum include Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai.
